Associate Dean Administration, Finance and Planning
Mike Besançon serves as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, overseeing accounting, budgeting, procurement, staffing, facilities liaison, space and information technology operations for McCormick. Prior to assuming the associate dean position, he held appointment as the Professor of Naval Science, chairing those departments at Northwestern University and the Illinois Institute of Technology, concluding a navy career in various positions of leadership in complex technology settings including command at sea and ashore. Commissioned through the Naval ROTC program at Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering, he also holds masters degrees in Public Administration from Auburn University and Business Administration from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg School of Management. Additionally he has diplomas in international security policy and management from the Royal Australian Naval Staff College, Sydney, and the U.S. Air War College.
