Prof. Sinan Keten Elected to Board of Directors

Prof. Sinan Keten was elected to the Board of Directors of the Society of Engineering Science (SES) by the SES Membership Committee on January 1, 2021 for a three-year term. Sinan Keten is currently a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University. He has long been an active member of SES. In 2018, he was awarded the SES Young Investigator Medal. 

For the year's election, the SES Board Membership Committee received 11 nominations and selected 6 to be on the ballot. The selection was based on several criteria, including diversity of research areas, geographical location, and representation. SES is an organization that promotes the development of the interfaces between engineering, science, and mathematics.
