Professor Apley Selected as ASA Fellow

The American Statistical Society has selected Professor Daniel Apley as an ASA Fellow.  This honor, available to only one third of one percent of the ASA's membership each year, recognizes members who have "an established reputation and have made outstanding contributions to statistical science."  Professor Apley will be honored with the other newly elected fellows at this year's Joint Statistical Meetings in Denver this July.

Professor Apley has been a member of the Northwestern University Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences department since 2003.  He serves as Editor-in-Chief Elect of Technometrics, the American Statistical Association's and American Society for Quality's journal on statistical methods for the engineering, physical, chemical, and information sciences.  Professor Apley has also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Quality Technology, been awarded the NSF CAREER Award, the IIE Transactions Best Paper Award, and the Wilcoxon Prize.
