Leo Kaplan Named B1G Distinguished Scholar

Leo Kaplan has been recognized as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for 2019.  The Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences student and outfielder on the baseball team is one of a record 86 Northwestern students to earn the distinction this year. Per the conference office, eligible students must have been enrolled full time, maintained a minimum GPA of 3.7, and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors for the previous academic year.  Leo is entering his senior year at Northwestern after earning Academic All-Big Ten honors for the last two years, and is currently interning at Houlihan Lokey in Los Angeles. Leo's academic advisor in IEMS, Professor Barry Nelson, commented that "Leo has taken a challenging course load, managed around the very significant travel and practice commitments of Division I baseball, and never looks for the easy way to get by."
