Q. Jane Wang Named Fellow of ASME

Q. Jane Wang, professor of mechanical engineering at the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University, has been named a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

The fellow grade is the highest elected grade of membership in ASME. Fellowship is conferred upon a member with at least 10 years of active engineering practice and who has made significant contributions to the profession.

Wang is a successful engineering educator who is noted for her work in tribology and contact mechanics. Her research includes analyses of extreme condition tribology problems and thermal tribological designs of machine elements and their surfaces. She received her PhD in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University in 1993.
