ASCE Bažant Medal awarded to Prof. Subra Suresh

Prof. Subra Suresh, President of Carnegie-Melon University, was awarded the ASCE Bažant Medal for Failure and Damage Prevention on May 25, 2016 during the Annual ASCE-EMI Convention in Nashville, TN.

This award was established to honor Zdeněk P. Bažant, Ph.D., S.E., NAS, NAE, Hon.M.ASCE, a recognized expert in the field of analytical and computational modeling of failure of quasi-brittle materials. The award was instituted by the Board of Direction on January 8, 2015. The medal seeks to honor his achievements and contributions to the field of failure and damage prevention.
