Shelley Finnigan

Associate Dean, Master’s and Professional Education

Shelley Finnigan is the associate dean for master’s and professional education at the McCormick School of Engineering. In this role, she serves on Northwestern Engineering's senior leadership team to oversee the entire master’s degree portfolio.

Since joining Northwestern in fall 2022, Shelley has directed the Master of Science in Project Management and Master of Science in Executive Management for Design and Construction programs. In that time, she led a comprehensive review of the curriculum, ensuring that McCormick graduates are well positioned to become leaders in their industries.

Prior to joining Northwestern, Shelley had a successful career in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, working for ArcelorMittal International, Nucor-Yamato Steel, and Thornton Tomasetti. She holds a BS and MS in civil engineering from Purdue University and is a licensed structural engineer in the State of Illinois.
