Richard Lueptow

Senior Associate Dean

Dean Lueptow serves as a principal advisor to the dean and oversees faculty hiring, space assignments and utilization, and research centers. As senior associate dean he is the chief operating officer for academic and research operations.

Lueptow has worked in the Office of the Dean since late 2007 and has been a professor of mechanical engineering since 1988. His research interests and expertise range from fundamental flow physics to water purification on manned spacecraft to planetary acoustics.

He has a BS in engineering from Michigan Technological University and an SM and ScD in mechanical engineering from MIT.
