COMP_SCI 351-1: Intro to Computer Graphics

Prerequisites

CS 214-0 or CS MS or CS PhDs or Instructor permission

Description

Theory and implementation of fundamental techniques for 3D rasterization. Topics include: linear algebra
geometry, 3D camera motion, model and mesh construction, mathematical 3D animation, and introductory
lighting with rasterization. 

  • This course satisfies the Interfaces Breadth & project requirement.

 COURSE GOAL: After taking CS 351-1, a student should be able to:

  • Read WebGL API specifications and have familiarity with basic WebGL functionality
  • Explain the use of linear algebra and standard mathematical operations in computer graphics
  • Manipulate simple animations and camera movements
  • Apply rasterized lighting techniques to computer graphics programs with GLSL
