Andrew Shen
Andrew graduated from UC San Diego with a major in bioinformatics and a minor in computer science. He has a strong background in research starting from high school, with experience in various labs from Stanford Health Care, UCSD Bioinformatics and Computer Science, and Harvard Medical School. He also has a long history of leadership and involvement, from representing UCSD as an Associated Students Senator and Orientation Leader, to roles in student government and the Biology Honors student organization.
In the summer before the MSAI program, Andrew joined Harvard's Summer Institute in Biomedical Informatics program where he worked on AI approaches for protein prediction with Dr. Marinka Zitnik's lab. He is interested in applying artificial intelligence to problems in the field of medicine and healthcare.
In his free time, Andrew likes playing ultimate frisbee, working out, cooking, and playing guitar.
