Introductory Course

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites undergraduate students from across Northwestern University to explore the computer engineering major through taking introductory courses. The classes described below can be taken on an individual basis to explore the field of computer engineering.

COMP_ENG/EECS 203 - Intro to Computer Engineering

This class is an overview of computer engineering design, including number systems and Boolean algebra, logic gates, design of combinational circuits and simplification, decoders, multiplexers, adders, sequential logic, and flip flops. The course includes an introduction to assembly language, and the application of concepts to a computer engineering design project.
