Rohit Sharma graduated from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University in 2022 with a bachelor's in Information Systems and Business Analytics. At Indiana University, Rohit developed a solid understanding of analytics through several statistics and programming courses, which helped him explore the scope of data science in every industry and ignited his passion for deriving insights from data. He was also highly involved on campus as he was a part of the Business Analytics workshop, where he collaborated with Deloitte to work on an analytics project. Similarly, Rohit also utilized social media analytics to create and amplify a fundraising page for daily wage workers impacted by the pandemic in India. This helped him raise funds that were used to provide dry ration and hygiene items to underprivileged people. Additionally, Rohit cofounded Hoosier Consulting Network, a student-run consulting organization, that helps small businesses to tackle various challenges ranging from finance to marketing and even supply-side issues. Throughout college, Rohit gained extensive internship experience in various fields, including healthcare, cybersecurity, outplacement, and consulting. His latest internship at Roche Diagnostics sparked his interest in data science where he was successful in utilizing predictive analytics to identify customer behavior patterns and determine the churn rate to minimize future customer churn probability. Similarly, during his internship at Challenger, Gray & Christmas, he utilized his data visualization skills to present severance weeks for C-Suite clients through detailed analysis of several outplacement factors. All these internship experiences motivated him to strive deeper in the data science field and pursue it further in his career. After graduation, Rohit worked as a consultant at The Hackett Group in Chicago, where he focused on gaining extensive analytical and project management expertise. Now, he is eager to advance his knowledge and develop his data science skillset through the MLDS program. He aims to broaden his technical proficiency through the experiential learning opportunities provided in the MLDS program and looks forward to collaborating with his peers and continuing to network in the data science industry to explore new professional opportunities.
