Jordan is from Roseville, Minnesota, and graduated from Drake University in 2024 with a major in Data Analytics and a minor in Computer Science. While at Drake, Jordan worked with the Men’s Soccer program as a student assistant where he aided the coaching staff in analyzing match data to gain insights in overall match performance. Jordan has also worked alongside the University of Minnesota’s football program where he has created play type prediction models, fourth down decision-making models, and calculating advanced metrics to look deeper into the team’s performance. Over the summer of 2023, Jordan interned at Corteva Agriscience as a software engineer intern. His role was to help maintain and improve the data pipeline translating On-Farm Data from tractor monitors and turning it into a rasterized image that’s displayed on the corresponding field. Through this experience, Jordan has gained a passion for technology’s impact in agriculture. Jordan is working as a data scientist for Forward Madison FC, a third-tier professional soccer team in Madison, Wisconsin, during the summer of 2024. He has worked with their coaching staff in identifying key characteristics of successful teams in the league, successful player traits for each position, and an overall analysis of match performance compared to the rest of the league. On top of Jordan’s studies in the MLDS program, he will be working as a graduate student manager for Northwestern’s Men’s Soccer program. He hopes to take his analytical and technical skills in the soccer analytics field to the next level with this role.
