Yunkai Jin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Rochester in 2024. His journey into Data Science began during a data science class in Rochester, sparking a deep interest in machine learning and data analysis. With a solid foundation in Python, R, and machine learning skills, Yunkai Jin has successfully completed numerous projects, including developing predictive models, using R to produce 3D contour plots. These projects have honed his ability to do data analysis work using several models such as random forest and linear regression. During his studies, Yunkai Jin engaged in several internships and practical experiences, such as the internship at PDF Solutions as a Field Application Engineer Intern, where he applied survival analysis with different distributions to analyze the test data. These hands-on opportunities allowed him to translate academic knowledge into practical skills. One of the pivotal moments in his academic career was the course project on Classification Analysis on “Flags Data Set”, where he utilized Tree-Based Algorithms to explore the relationship between the flags and the religion of countries. This project provided valuable insights into classifying a country’s religious beliefs based on its flag. Driven by a passion for data science, Yunkai Jin is now focused on developing data analysis skills, aspiring to make a significant impact as a data analyst. His goal is to leverage his expertise to tackle business challenges and support data-driven decision-making.
