Ishita graduated from Michigan State University with a dual degree in Computer Science and Data Science, along with a minor in Cognitive Science. The 4 years Ishita spent at MSU were transformative, providing her with valuable experiences academically, professionally, and personally. She held multiple roles during her time at MSU. She was a teaching assistant for over 5 technical classes (Intro to Engineering, Computational Modelling and Data Analysis I and II, Matrix Algebra with Computational Applications, Object oriented Software Development, she was a mentor for multiple Women in Engineering (WIE) programs being passionate about empowering women in STEM. Additionally, she gained valuable experience through industry internships working with Fortune 500 companies - A Data Science Intern at DTE Energy and a Software Engineer Intern at Carrier. She worked on multiple projects from ranging from optimizing data and statistical analysis in DTE Energy using Tableau, PowerBI, etc. to developing machine learning models using Python, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, C/C++, etc. with over 91% accuracy and integrating them into battery systems for optimized energy management at Carrier. She is eager to join the MLDS program to deepen her knowledge in machine learning and data science and excited to learn and grow further.
