Brian(Xiang) Lin graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a major in Business Economics (June 2023). His academic path prepared him for success in the analytics profession and a rewarding career in data science. His business economics education included a wide range of courses in business, economics, math, statistics, coding, accounting, and finance, providing him with a strong theoretical and multidisciplinary foundation. These academic experiences honed his research skills, expanded his knowledge of statistical analysis, and developed his critical thinking skills. Additionally, Brian's self-driven exploration of programming languages, such as R, Python, and Java, has unequivocally highlighted their indispensable role in data analysis, where the efficiency of coding and data manipulation is paramount. Data has become an integral part of this century. He wish to use data science to driving data-centric innovations, optimizing decision-making processes while addressing complex industry- wide challenges using cutting-edge data analysis and machine learning. Motivated by a culmination of academic, research, and professional experiences, his career aspirations are intrinsically tied to the dynamic realm of data analytics. Brian believes that the MLDS program is the ideal platform to help him realize his career aspirations by providing him with the necessary knowledge, skills, practical experiences, and a strong professional network. It is a critical stepping stone toward achieving his dream of becoming a Data Scientist in the financial or technology sector.
