Glenys Charity Lion is a data scientist with a deep passion for leveraging machine learning to solve real-world problems. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Statistics, specializing in Data Science, from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, in 2023. Throughout her academic journey, she developed proficiency in Python, R, MySQL, and Tableau. Her notable projects include developing a movie recommendation system, implementing Q-Learning for Atari game playing, and conducting predictive analysis for online gaming competitions. Upon graduation, Glenys joined Tokopedia, the leading local e-commerce platform in Indonesia, which was acquired by ByteDance in February 2024, as a Data Analyst. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in driving the company’s data-driven strategies. She honed her skills in data analysis, machine learning implementation, and process automation. A key achievement was the innovation of a keyword recommendation system for sellers. This algorithm optimizes both bid amounts and keyword selections to ensure advertisers get more exposure on display. Glenys' experiences have solidified her passion for data science, motivating her to further her expertise through the Machine Learning and Data Science program at Northwestern University. She is committed to advancing her skills to tackle complex problems and create impactful solutions. Glenys is confident in the transformative power of data-driven insights and envisions a fulfilling career where she can drive positive change and innovation in the world through her work.
