Brinda V. Narayanan recently graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a B.S. in Cognitive Science specializing in Machine Learning and Neural Computation. Throughout her academic journey, she demonstrated a strong passion for integrating machine learning techniques with cognitive science, showcasing her interdisciplinary knowledge in human-computer interaction. During her time at UC San Diego, Brinda engaged in various projects that highlights her proficiency in Python and machine learning algorithms. She engineered a data-driven music genre classification system and did a sentiment analysis on college subreddits qualitatively extracting how student sentiment towards their colleges has changed since the pandemic. Her work in these areas not only honed her technical expertise but also emphasized the importance of user-centered design and practical applications of NLP. Brinda's industry experience includes impactful internships at FINRA, Amazon Fulfillment, and JUMP Investors. At FINRA, she developed a coffee chat application using Hugging Face NLP tools fostering community in a remote environment. At Amazon, she optimized inventory processes, boosting productivity significantly while her role at JUMP investors allowed her to delve into venture capital and collaborate with leadership. These diverse experiences have equipped Brinda with a well-rounded skill set, preparing her to drive transformative outcomes in her future endeavors in the world of machine learning.
