Khanh Chi Nguyen (Chi) is currently pursuing her Master’s in Machine Learning and Data Science at Northwestern University, where she focuses on applying advanced data-driven techniques to solve complex real-world challenges. With a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University, Chi brings a unique interdisciplinary approach to her work, combining engineering principles with cutting-edge machine learning methods. Her professional experience spans various industries. Most recently, as a Process Improvement Analyst at Eurofins, she developed predictive models and web applications that improved the accuracy of vaccine prototypes by 23%. As a R&D Engineer Intern at FMC Corporation, Chi applied advanced statistical analysis and machine learning to automate critical calculations, enhancing powder flow behavior prediction with an accuracy of 86%. She also worked as an Operational Analyst at Johnson Matthey, where she utilized multivariate statistical process control to optimize manufacturing processes, significantly improving product quality and safety. Chi is highly skilled in Python, R, SQL, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, with additional expertise in statistical analysis, regression modeling, and data visualization. She has successfully applied these skills in a range of projects, from building interactive data analysis tools like the Data Sherlock chatbot (she promised it’s much more helpful than Watson!), to conducting portfolio optimization using Bayesian inference and Monte Carlo simulations. In her free time, Chi is passionate about expanding her technical skills and working on innovative side projects, many of which can be found on her GitHub. She is constantly exploring new technologies and enjoys solving problems that push the boundaries of machine learning and data science. Chi is excited about the transformative potential of AI and machine learning and is eager to collaborate with like-minded individuals who share her passion for leveraging data to drive innovation and make an impact.
