Echo graduated with Honors of Highest Distinction from the University of California, San Diego, with a B.S. in Joint Mathematics and Economics, where she gained a strong foundation in mathematics, economics, and data science. Her academic journey equipped her with expertise in statistics, Python, and R programming, complemented by a deep understanding of energy and environmental economics. She is passionate about leveraging mathematical and data science methodologies to address environmental challenges, particularly climate change. Her research and work experience are diverse and substantial. During her undergraduate studies, she explored the gender wage gap in the high-tech industry using ordinary least squares regression in STATA, analyzed the causal relationship between real GDP growth and the unemployment rate in Vermont, and applied ordinary differential equations in environmental economics. For her senior thesis, she explored the income effect on electric vehicle adoption using entity and time-fixed effects models. Additionally, she participated in several internships. During her internship at EDF Renewables, she optimized the company's budget through software spending reports and streamlined operational data, deepening her understanding of the renewable energy market's challenges. Currently, she is collaborating with the Center for Community Energy in San Diego on energy efficiency and electrification projects. She aims to work as a data scientist in the sustainable energy sector and eventually become a digital transformation expert, helping clients implement AI tools to achieve sustainability goals. She is excited to join the MLDS program to advance her skills in predictive analytics, deep learning, and data visualization. She also looks forward to participating in the Capstone Design Project to connect with like-minded peers and contribute to building a better world through data-driven solutions.
