Biography

Joel Sensenig is a retired U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps Officer with over 25 years of progressive leadership, facilities management and achieving mission and project objectives. Organized, trained and led diverse organizations domestically and internationally; planned complex projects, and developed and executed multi-million dollar facility budgets.

Joel’s career with the Navy began with a project management role in Puerto Rico providing quality assurance, estimating and negotiations on diverse projects from airplane hangars to solid waste handling facilities.  He has spent much of his career leading organizations focused on facilities management and construction services for multi-site locations including overseas in Puerto Rico, Europe, and Bahrain as well as in the United States.  Additionally, he task organized teams, provided planning support and executed construction projects in Afghanistan and countries in West Africa.

He is involved in several community organizations, having served on the North Chicago School District 187 Independent Authority, Board of Directors for the Lake Michigan Post of the Society of American Engineers, the Board of Trustees at Westlake Christian Academy and on the Veterans Committee of the Illinois Section of American Water Works Association.

Joel and his wife Courtney currently reside in Grayslake, IL and have five adult children and one grandson.
