Bringing about this future will require new advances in several areas, from fundamental advances in learning and inference techniques, to new paradigms for programming AIs that make the technology widely accessible, to infrastructure challenges like reliability, efficiency, and security. The goal of the Northwestern Center for Deep Learning is to provide an open forum that brings together leading industry players, startups, and academia to address the challenges of AI.
