Inclusive Language for Syllabi
An inclusion statement as part of your syllabus can signal to your students your commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive climate for all students.
- A group of McCormick Faculty put together a short resource on language for inclusion statements in syllabi in March 2020
- AccessibleNU's suggested syllabus statement along with their procedures for testing accommodations for your reference
- The Writing Place offers feedback to students with writing assignments
- And although they don't have suggestions for syllabus statements, it is good to be aware that the Provost's office also has a list of resources for faculty to assist students that includes Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and Student Enrichment Services (SES)
