In partnership with the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), the January 17 event featured the panel discussion, “Reactivating the Loop.”
The panel was moderated by Juliane Kelly and featured:

"What's on the Horizon with Cook County?"
In partnership with the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), the inaugural BuiltX event on June 28, 2023, featured a panel discussion moderated by EMDC adjunct professor Jacqueline Loewe and was introduced by Kevin Nolan (EMDC '16), chapter president, CMAA Chicago, and senior associate, STV.
Featured panelists:
- Elizabeth Granato, bureau chief for the Cook County Bureau of Asset Management
- Jennifer (Sis) Killen, superintendent of the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways
- Earl Manning, director of capital planning at Cook County Government
The panelists discussed an array of topics, including choosing to work in the public sector versus the private sector, implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and incorporating sustainability into all they do.
