Proposals
The McCormick Research Administration team supports faculty with all aspects of research administration, including proposal development. The department Research Administrator (RA) assists with administrative aspects of a proposal and works with Sponsored Research (SR) to submit the proposal.

Deadlines
The following internal deadlines apply to all submissions:
Nine working days prior to submission deadline
Non-technical components are recommended to be completed and submitted to your McCormick research administrator (RA).
Five working days prior to submission deadline
Final technical components, ready for sponsor submission, should be submitted to your RA, in order to follow the University’s 5-day proposal deadline policy.
Additional Deadlines:
Your RA may give you additional deadlines in the proposal checklist you are provided that will ensure the school and university deadlines above are met.
Proposals with subawards and cost sharing will require additional time.
Typical Proposal Preparation Timeline
Six Weeks or More
Notify your Research Administrator using the McCormick Proposal Intake Form if you are planning, or are considering, submitting a proposal.
Four or Five Weeks Prior
Identify project team; prepare budget; initiate contact with sub-recipient institutions.
Two or Three Weeks Prior
Finalize non-technical components including project budget, biographical sketches, current and pending documents, subrecipient packages, and other non-technical sponsor-required documents.
Five Business Days Prior
Finalize technical components and submit completed proposal to the Sponsored Research office per University’s 5-day proposal deadline policy.
