Description
This course will provide in practicum training in upstream and downstream unit operations.
Experiments
MBIOTECH 402 gives students the opportunty to conduct experiments in the following subjects:
- Bioreactors cultures (bacterial and mammalian cells)
- Cell separation (microfiltration and centrifugation)
- Protein separation (ultrafiltration and chromatography)
Several bioanalytical methods such as automated cell counting, HPLC, ELISA, and metabolite analysis are integrated with the experiments. Separate modules on Design Experiments and Good Laboratory Practices are included.
