Research focused on cell structure and activity, and the molecular basis of biological activity between the various systems of a cell. By observing interactions between the different types of DNA, RNA and proteins and their biosynthesis, researchers examine how these interactions are regulated. The holistic approach using ‘-omics’ is integral to today’s cell and molecular biology research.
