Zhefei Jin & Pang Shen Awarded ASCE 2020 Scholarship

Two students, Zhefei Jin and Pang Shen, were awarded the Illinois Section ASCE 2020 Geo-Institute Scholarship. Student scholarships are offered annually to one Geotechnical Engineering graduate student and one undergraduate student interested in Geotechnical Engineering attending any accredited school.
Zhefei Jin is a PhD candidate in geotechnical engineering with current research interests lying in modeling fundamental processes in soil-machine interaction. She is working in the research group of Professor Jim Hambleton.
Pang (Devin) Shen is an undergraduate civil engineering junior studying both structural engineering and the Architectural Engineering and Design minor. He was a research assistant in Hambleton’s group as well.
