CEE External Advisory Committee Member Bill Baker Proposes Design Philosophy

Bill Baker, member of Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering External Advisory Committee and Adjunct Faculty, discuss "The Design of Structures" at the McCormick Dean's Seminar Series in January.  Baker is the Structural Engineering Partner of Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill, LLP (SOM) in Chicago.  Last May, Baker delivered the inaugural lecture in the Department's Distinguished Lecture Series.  Baker is widely regarded for his structural innovation.  Among his honors are member of the National Academy of Engineers and ASCE's Opal Award for lifetime achievement in design.
