Selim Shahriar Wins 2025 NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts Award

Northwestern Engineering's Selim Shahriar won a 2025 NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts program award for his visionary idea to reconcile quantum mechanics with the theory of general relativity.

Shahriar's team will investigate the use of a radically new method that leverages quantum entanglement to test the equivalence principle with extreme precision, in a project titled "SUPREME-QG: Space-borne Ultra-Precise Measurement of the Equivalence Principle Signature of Quantum Gravity."
