MSIT 490: Special Topics in Information Technology: Cyber Forensics for Data Breaches

Description

This course will cover the fundamentals of Digital Forensics and Incident Response, drawing on sanitized cyber exercises based on the latest real life data breach incidents. Students will learn the phases of the attack life cycles, concepts of modern malware, the craft of cyber criminals and nation-state threat actors, deep forensic analysis of memory, disk, and cloud. The class will also cover cyber threat intelligence and how to be best prepared for an incident to facilitate conclusive understanding of the attack and the damage.
