Career Development
There are many resources available to current students to help them find the right job. Those who are interested in obtaining an internship or a full-time position may find the following resources useful:
- The Engineering Career Development is located in Ford 2.350. The office helps provide career advice to engineering students and helps them find internship and co-op positions.
- Northwestern Career Advancement offers comprehensive career services including career counseling and assessment, resume reviews, and individual job searching assistance.
- Take advantage of the networking and mentoring opportunities available through the Northwestern Alumni Association.

The Graduate School’s Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Success (GPS) focuses on recruitment and support and facilitates community engagement. We are committed to the personal and intellectual growth of our graduate community.
TGS Peer Mentor Program
The Graduate School's Peer Mentor Program is designed to help first-year PhD students become acclimated to Northwestern with the direct assistance of a current graduate student. TGS peer mentors will serve as an additional resource to incoming PhD students and provide support, encouragement, and information as our new students embark on this new academic journey.
International Student Resources
Office of International Student and Scholar Services
OISS offers a range of support for international students, including advising (scroll down on the home page to the “Contact Your Advisor” section to find yours!); visa, housing, and tax information; and fun programs such as Graduate Sidekicks and family events with the Community Council for International Students.
TGS International Student Services
TGS has consolidated many helpful resources, including English Language Programs, which provides free language instruction, and Coffee Talk, a dialogue series created by Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and OISS.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
CAPS offers counseling services, mental health resources, and virtual workshops for undergrad, graduate and professional students. The intended purpose is short-term support. Group or individual therapy options are available.
Wellness
For more wellness resources, you can visit the Wellness at Northwestern site for students or the Well-being and Work/Life and Family webpages from HR for grad students, postdocs, faculty, and staff. The department recognizes and rejects stigma around mental health issues in higher education, and we encourage all members of our community to take advantage of support resources. Highlights from the above links include:

Reporting Harassment, Hate Crimes, or Discrimination
Office of Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance
If you wish to report a discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct matter, you can do so by contacting the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance or by completing one of their reporting forms. Resource guides and a list of confidential resources are also available.

Report a concern, whether general or related to a specific issue (e.g. sexual misconduct, stalking, dating or domestic violence, hate)
Respect NU & Bias Incident Response Team
