The course will be taught in a modular format where each module will be focused on an important paper that uses quantitative approaches to make breakthroughs in our understanding of living systems. Understanding of each paper will be hands on where students will be given the original data set (images, sequences, etc.) and their task will be to recreate an keystone data and modeling plots in the paper. Modules will involve bacterial chemotaxis, gene regulation, gene expression, developmental patterning, metabolism and growth, and others. Students will get bootcamps in coding, image analysis, and sequence analysis.
