ESAM 311 and 312, or equivalent, or permission of instructor

Description

This is the first part of a two course graduate  sequence in analytical methods to solve ordinary and partial differential equations of mathematical physics. Review of Advanced ODE’s  including power series methods. Special Functions. Eigenvalue and eigenfunction problems. Transform methods. Green’s functions and distribution theory. Classification of 2nd order PDE’s and Canonical Forms.
