Description

This is the 2nd part of a two course graduate sequence in analytical methods to solve partial differential equations of mathematical physics. Review of Separation of variables. Laplace Equation: Potential theory, eigenfunction expansions, conformal methods, Fourier transforms. Heat Equation: Eigenfunction expansions, integral transforms, Green Function methods. Wave Equation: D’Alembert’s Method, Green’s functions, Spherical Means, Method of Descent, Duhamel’s Principle.
