RTG Students Presented at the Inaugural NU-FIRST Symposium

RTG graduate student Matthew Tanzy and RTG undergrad Melanie Nehrkorn presented a poster on their research at the inaugural NU-FIRST Symposium, an outreach symposium for K-12 students. NU-FIRST is a new group focused on providing inspiration and motivation in the STEM areas to promising Chicago-area students.
Their poster involved explaining their research on population evolution models and showing the importance of mathematics in elucidating pattern formation for competing populations. The symposium was held in the Technological Institute on Saturday, May 25.
