2020 ECE Annual Awards Winners
Six students and faculty were recognized during the annual ceremony
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering recognized six students and faculty on June 3 during the annual departmental awards ceremony.
The event, held via Zoom, included a lecture titled “No Child Left Behind: A Shepherding Approach to Teaching” from Selim Shahriar, professor of electrical and computer engineering, who won the department’s best teacher award last year.
Winners include:
Jason Liu and Alvin Tan received outstanding graduating senior computer engineering awards.
James Williams received the outstanding graduating senior electrical engineering award.
Yingyi Luo received the best teaching assistant award.
Alice Lucas, advised by Aggelos Katsaggelos, professor of electrical and computer engineering, received a best thesis award for “Deep Perceptual Losses and Self-Supervised Fine Tuning for Image and Video Super Resolution.”
Tianyu Jia, advised by Jie Gu, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, received a best thesis award for “Ultra-Dynamic Fine-Grained Power and Clock Management Techniques for Microprocessors and Machine Learning Accelerators.”
Pedram Khalili, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, received the best teacher award.
