Lessons from the PhD Journey of Professor Nivedita Arora

Northwestern Engineering's Nivedita Arora, shared lessons learned from her six-year journey earning a PhD in computer science at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Arora discussed the ups and downs, the strategies that helped make her research more impactful yet enjoyable, and how it shaped who she is today.

Arora won the 2024 ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award for her work in sustainability-first computing systems. She was also featured in the "People of ACM" series.
