Nivedita Arora Featured in 'People of ACM' Series

Nivedita AroraThe Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) highlighted Northwestern Engineering’s Nivedita Arora in the 'People of ACM' series, which features the unique scientific accomplishments and compelling personal attributes of ACM members at the forefront of advancing computing as a science and a profession.

In the interview, Arora, the Allen K. and Johnnie Cordell Breed Junior Professor of Design and assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, discussed her work pioneering sustainable computational materials.

Arora recently received the 2024 ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award for her dissertation, “Sustainable Interactive Wireless Stickers: From Materials to Devices to Applications.” Arora developed four projects with iteratively increased capabilities, focusing on system design parameters prioritizing environmental sustainability, battery-free power, minimal form factor, and low cost.
