The Master of Engineering Management program has an annual orientation event for new students at the beginning of every fall quarter. It is mandatory for all new full-time and part-time students starting the program. Part-time students who joined the program in the Winter or Spring quarter of the same year are also required to attend the orientation.
Important Events & Dates
MEM Orientation
Held in September, usually within the week before classes begin. Enrolled students will receive information via Canvas.
MEM Football Tailgate Party
Held in September or October based on the football schedule.

Online Statistics & Probability Course Pre-Requisite
MEM offers a free 10-week, zero-credit online Statistics & Probability course during the summer (Late June-Late August) taught by Professor Bruce Ankenman. This course is offered within Canvas (NU's Learning Management System) and it will require weekly online tasks and videos. This course is only available for MEM students.
Additional Workshops/Activities for Full-Time Students
Full-time students are encouraged to attend the international student orientation (international students only) and McCormick Welcome Lunch to get acquainted with the graduate community, career resources, visa rules, and make new connections.
There are many analytics, entrepreneurship, and student affairs activities on campus before the Fall quarter commences. Full-time students are suggested to arrive as early as possible to participate in such events.
