MECH_ENG 495: Selected Topics: Numerical Methods for Dynamics of Mechanical Systems

Description

This course will cover advanced topics in the development and analysis of numerical methods for simulation of rigid body motion.  Topics will include forward error analysis, backwards error analysis, discrete mechanics and the discrete action principle, structured integration, and variational integrators.  Applications will emphasize engineering systems such as simulation of robotic devices.
